Today we are publishing an interim edition of Sarah Jeong's 'The Internet of Garbage' available for free download on theverge.com . Sarah recently left The Verge to join The New York Times and was almost immediately subjected to an astonishing vitriolic attack by right wing trolls. I found it genuinely horrifying to read the death threats (and far worse) directed at a colleague I knew to be anything but the racist she was inaccurately being portrayed as. Sarah, of course, dealt with it grace and humor telling me that at least the trolls were using a decent photo of her.
