Two years and counting! Despite a tumultuous year, Close the Gap Foundation was able to launch our second annual STEAM Fellowship, tripling our cohort size this year. We brought our entire programming lineup virtually. The Fellowship aims to close the network and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) gap for high school students from historically marginalized communities. 🎓 $3,500 awarded in scholarships 🙋‍♀️ 7 in 10 of our Fellows identify as young women who intend to pursue a career in STEAM 🌱 1,250+ volunteer hours logged among Fellows, their mentors, speakers, and our team 🍎 100% of our cohort qualify for free or reduced school lunch 🏆 100% of our Fellows were paired with industry professionals from Microsoft, Google, Microsoft, and many other top organizations to close their network gap We're looking to grow our third STEAM Fellowship to a cohort of 30 students with even more support, including a needs-based technology stipend to close the digital divide for students who lack reliable access to the internet or computer at home.
