McKinsey today launched a major piece of gender research, focused specifically on Asia. The report draws on extensive, new data compiled by the McKinsey Global Institute, and includes specific chapters on China, India, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Advancing women’s equality in countries of Asia Pacific could add $4.5 trillion to their collective annual GDP by 2025, a 12 percent increase over the business-as-usual trajectory.
