How do you define success? Salary? Job title? That mythical corner office/cube? I was at a conference recently where a speaker (whose name escapes me, unfortunately) had a different definition. Success, she said, is the ability to influence the culture of your workplace. You don't need a corner office, a senior management position or a hefty bi-weekly paycheck to do that.
