It might seem surprising to see a co-founder who sold his business buy it back. But to me this makes all the sense in the world. When ZICO Beverages, LLC was sold to The Coca-Cola Company it became just another product line. Odds were high that it would eventually shuttered (which it was announced to be 3 months ago). But by buying it back, Mark Rampolla and his team can not only give it the focus it needs for long-term success and expand the product line base the core brand, but they are tapping into the tidal shift toward plant-based diets at the right time too.
