Remember when Panera Bread launched an unlimited coffee subscription in late Feb right as COVID-19 hit the US? Turns out it was a pretty brilliant move despite the pandemic: - 800k took the free trial - Subs now at 500k - 90% of new revenue was incremental - 35% of subs are new customers - 35% of coffee orders include food So not only did they get folks to subscribe to what is likely to be one of the highest margin items they sell, but they also boosted food sales, and expanded their customer base.
