Fun fact: Just because a company is bigger, doesn't mean it will win. Case in point - Walmart . That's right, circa 2005 Walmart decided it wanted in on the DVD-by-mail space and launched a competitor to Netflix . It's reasonable to think that a bigger company with more resources might be able to outpace a smaller startup. But for Walmart (their online division ran this) it was one of many initiatives. For us, DVDs-by-mail was all we did. And despite all the tongue-wagging at-launch about how they were going kill Netflix, Walmart ultimately folded up shop.
