I recently started the Imani Arts Foundation - a nonprofit organization providing free resources and support for youth in the entertainment space. We had our first fundraising event on May 6, 2018, and raised over $1500 dollars! A special thank you to poet Arielle Estoria, the McCreay Foundation gospel choir, and the Clavillo sisters for their awesome performances. The Imani Arts Foundation is driven by a fundamental belief in the innate power of guided creativity. Studies show that young people who have high creative potential have increased self awareness and as a result, often struggle in the area of personal identity development. Guided creative achievement, on the other hand, leads to an increase in personal growth. Our organization is designed to provide the tools and access necessary to help youth of all backgrounds and socioeconomic status discover, develop, and deliver their creative gifts in a safe space.
