There's nothing wrong with mentors - if they're good. But you may not know whether they are or not until you've invested a lot of time and energy into the relationship. I've learned a lot about my industry and the business world in general just by watching the right people and absorbing their behavior. Be discerning, and know that people are flawed. That's ok.
