How women communicate at work, at home, even to each other, is largely affected by how they know they will be perceived by the public. And by public I mean, to a large degree, men. It's part of our conditioning.  This piece from the NYT reminded me how ridiculous the social expectations around expressing female emotions are, how aggressively persistent is the message that female anger is unacceptable. It also brings home one very important fact that usually gets lost in society's efforts to squash or discredit female anger: "No woman’s anger is an island." …see more
