News that the #UK has approved the Pfizer #coronavirus #vaccine is being greeted with optimism in many circles--but there's still an incredible amount of skepticism in others. Pledges to ensure that #frontlineworkers and the vulnerable #elderly would be among the first to receive a viable vaccine are welcome. On the other hand, promises that communities of color could be prioritized have caused concern. #America 's record of medical experimentation in those same communities is complicating the plan to try and remediate the blow that #COVID19 has dealt to people of color. But my ultimate concern is still #healthequity . Lower-income nations haven't developed the infrastructure to make mass #vaccinations possible--and that's apart from their financial ability to secure them in the first place. That's why I'm encouraged by this partnership between the #Chinese Alibaba Group and Ethiopian Airlines to introduce a #coldchain capable of transporting temperature-sensitive medicines from #China to the rest of the world.
