Spent yesterday observing a #masterclass in #art , #entrepreneurship , #networking , and #communityorganizing , taught by an #arts superhero if ever there was one: John J I Chisholm . This self-described workaholic spent decades excelling in the legal and business realms before launching the Washington, DC-based PAINTS Institute , an incubator for arts and #STEMeducation for youth and a collective for local artists to build their networking and entrepreneurial skill sets. PAINTS is an acronym for “Providing Artists with Inspiration in Non-Traditional Settings.” The story of how PAINTS partnered with the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) and the historic St. John's Church to produce vibrant murals promoting peace and unity is the focus of my next feature for National Geographic .
