Working with Brian Otieno , aka #Storitellah , on this National Geographic story about #COVID19 in #Kibera reminded me once again why I chose to spend almost a decade in #Kenya . The strength, resilience and resolve of talented young people like Brian, who was awarded a National Geographic Emergency Fund Grant for Journalists, kept me over there supporting creativity and commitment. I was honored to write the story that accompanies Brian's brilliant images, depicting how the people of Kibera, one of Africa's largest informal settlements, are coping during the COVID-19 pandemic.
