While grocery shopping, get your sprained ankle or diabetes treated too because now you can get full medical care at a few Walmarts. And they have separate doors and decor, much like any professional medical office. Walmart Health is partnering at the facility with “several on-the-ground health providers to be a first-of-its-kind health center to deliver primary and urgent care, labs, X-ray and diagnostics, counseling, dental, optical and hearing services all in one facility,” the retail giant said in a statement. Pricing will also be “transparent” regardless of a patient's insurance status, noted the company. How do you feel about getting healthcare services from a non-traditional provider? I think the market has already spoken on this: the general public is already making decisions based on convenience and price. Loyalty to a specific brand (eg Mayo Clinic), and specific doctor, just doesn’t matter so much, especially to younger people. No doubt that healthcare services are getting baked into our shopping lives and blurring the lines between ‘medical’ services and activities of daily life.
