Bullies are bad AND, they are bad for your Health. Harassment can cause anxiety, high blood pressure, sleepless nights, and job loss. What defines a person as a true bully? If that person regularly makes you feel "oppressed, humiliated, de-energized or belittled." Just like ice cream, bullying comes in different flavors but unlike ice cream, none of them tasty. There is verbal bullying and passive-aggressive and cyber bullying and of course, there is physical bullying. What to do? Here are a few strategies: Pitty them—assume they are screwed-up and try compassion. Pick your battles—strike back verbally or through formal complaints. Psych them out—act irrationally like respond with humor. Get a posse—band together with others to demonstrate strength in numbers. But mostly stay safe and if needed report it, or leave.
