This post spoke to me SOOOOO much. When I look back over the arc of my career, I want to hug the young Rachel who thought one mistake was going to kill her, or that someone else’s opinion of her had the power of life or death. Or that I had to be perfect, or not even make the attempt. Today, almost 35 years after I stepped into the St. Petersburg Times newsroom (now the Tampa Bay Times - Times Publishing Co ), I marvel at the twists and turns my career has taken. I’ve mentored journalists in six African nations, traveled all over the world and just had an article published in National Geographic Magazine...at a time in my life when I worried that all of my career milestones were behind me. I want to shout from the rooftops, “The best is yet to come....IF YOU BELIEVE IT’S POSSIBLE!!” No matter what today looks like, tomorrow could be just the antidote.
