If I'm honest, I've never given too much thought about which #scientist or #researcher first identified the #climatechange phenomenon. But learning that it was a woman named Eunice Foote--and that she made the discovery in 1848, shortly after co-organizing the first ever women's rights conference in Seneca Falls, NY--has actually just blown my mind. That's why I'm sharing this essay by journalist Laurie Garrett . It's a terrific analysis of how #genderbias hampers women in the realm of science and research. Specifically, as it pertains to #WomenInSTEM , the evidence is absolutely jaw-dropping.
