Quality Ratings For Hospitals? Just like restaurants need to show their A-F food safety ratings, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is considering making hospitals display their quality and safety scores on hospital’s websites. I say ‘It’s about time!’ Don’t you want to easily know if your preferred hospital has high or low scores for infections or hip replacements or heart attacks? Even though you can find all this currency (think HospitalCompare.com ) it’s still a bit of a hunt to find the data you most want. So why not have hospitals display their scores? Good ones will be proud to do so, and poorly performing hospitals? Well perhaps not so much—but the consumer still has every right to know.
