This morning, I'm motivated by imagining the ultimate cure for cancer. The news that the 2018 Nobel Prize for Medicine went to 2 cancer immunotherapy researchers gets my October off to a good start. James P. Allison of The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Tasuku Honjo of Kyoto University were awarded for their work on unleashing the immune system’s ability to attack cancer, which yielded a breakthrough in developing new cancer treatments. As the @World Health Organization pushes for an increased global spotlight on non-communicable diseases like cancer, this news offers yet another reason to believe that the tool to eradicate cancer will be found.
