I’ll never forget how the women in her family gave her parents their condolences as she was headed to the #UK to begin her #midwifery training. They believed 17 year old Edna was wasting her time AND her family’s money. She later became First Lady of #Somaliland , the country’s first female Health Minister and Foreign Minister—and she built a #maternity hospital that has delivered 23,000 moms.
