Neglected Tropical Diseases ( #NTDs ) affect more than one billion of the world’s poorest people. NTDs include diseases like #trachoma , #riverblindness , #lymphaticfilariasis , and #leprosy . Non-Governental Organizations ( #NGOs ) are uniquely placed to reach these least-served populations, through working on the ground to deliver services, building strong partnerships with governments and the private sector, and advocating for improving health at a global, regional and national level. Next week, the Neglected Tropical Disease NGO Network (@NTDNGONetwork on @Twitter) community will meet in Addis Ababa, #Ethiopia - one of the most NTD endemic countries in the world – to consider critical challenges and opportunities to achieving a world free of NTDs.
