https://lnkd.in/gHjJ_Hm Who Needs Science to Tell Us That ‘Broken Heart’ is Bad for Our Health? Some times science simply is ‘late to the game,’ as the saying goes. Brace yourself because scientists have now officially declared that having a broken heart is no good for one’s health....(I know the article says more than this but trust me, this is the main thrust...) Years ago I was talking with a psychotherapist about love, and he said something so extraordinary that I never forgot it: He said when you first ‘fall in love,’ you become slightly psychotic. Which made sense to me in thinking about how some people seem to go ‘over the edge’ with their extreme obsession about their new love interest. And if this true, then falling out of love must be equally rough on the psyche. Did we need a study to tell us what just about each of us have either experienced or seen first-hand? Selected Excerpt: “The study underlines the fact that our brains and hearts are connected even more intimately than scientists have believed...and that a broken heart can cause stress and anxiety.”
