Can't believe I'll be hitching a ride from Little Rock to Hot Springs for the Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS) Fall Camp 2017 with the  the named plaintiff in Boylan v. Times, the 1974 federal class-action suit filed on behalf of 550 women at The New York Times over inequities including pay, assignments and advancement. That case  literally paved the way for more women to move into leadership positions in American newsrooms.  She was the first woman copy editor at the Times, and throughout her distinguished career she has fought continuously for women and people of color to be "in the room where it happens." She's Betsy Wade . And she's still a hoot.
