Warehousing Our Aging Parents and Grandparents. While the Healthcare industry has been very strong at making hospital admissions safe, we have not been nearly so focused on our nursing home industry. Quality, safety, and-yes even dignity and respect- should be absolute core tenets of performance in nursing homes. Nothing less should be tolerated. And yet just the opposite is true—and has been for some time now. Frankly we should all be very uncomfortable knowing our senior citizens are receiving sloppy and undignified care in their final years.
