Thinking of Starting--or Re-Starting Working Out? It's Springtime and which means its time to think about bicycling, upcoming trips to our beautiful National Parks, summer picnics. Which means feeling physically fit, 'light' and well, happy. I've started, stopped and re-started working-out too many times to count over the 40 years I've been exercising. Here's what I've learned: 1. Re-Set To Zero: Know you will start, stop and need to re-start exercising many, many times. I think of this as 'resetting to zero.'  2. Get into the Work-Out Mindset: Be kind to yourself and set winning 'goals' at the beginning of your 'work-out season.'  3. Feel Successful Each Time You Work-Out: It’s about the process of ‘doing’ so applaud yourself for ‘doing’ rather than judging ‘how much or how little’ you did. 4. Figure Out ‘Why’ You Want To Exercise: This becomes important to staying fit. 5. Develop a Personal Matra: By coming up with a ‘saying’ that you can repeat to yourself when you are working-out, that helps a lot.
