Chinese fintech/finserv is the fruit of a nationalistic intent that is forward thinking & globally connected. EU fintech/finserv is trying to rearchitect its domestic champions on the strength of various EU directives. Given the size of the EU market, the plan is for these directives to be globally influential & for its domestic champions to benefit, being at the epicenter. EU fintech/finserv is the fruit of a nationalistic intent that has yet to be as fully coordinated & comprehensive as its Chinese counterpart. US fintech/finserv still relies on the global status of the $ & the vibrancy of innovation. apart from a few global actors, it is inwards looking given the self sufficient size of its market & remoteness. US legislators have less of an understanding of tech as a driver, nor a vision for the future.
