Thank you Cynthia for bringing this article forward. What I struggle with, if I'm trying to wear a "hat" of a non-healthcare industry person is the lack of actual meaning in the article. I mean, what does it actually mean when Mr. Penso defines value based care as: "the care provided is “efficient and effective through a systems that delivers high performance."" As someone who just had her mother in the hospital (again), it feels as though words like 'efficient' is code for 'doing things on the cheap.'
