This is #myboy ! It was date night (Mother/son dance) at his all boys high school! We had a great time. Aside from that, every boy, young man, (How did he get to be almost 18) who he saw greeted him with a handshake. They also greeted the Moms the same way. These are teenagers. It wasn’t just a couple kids... it was the whole gymnasium, I watched interact with these non traditional high school manners. This is very different than interactions with my daughter’s peers when she was at the public high school. Both kids are receiving equally equivalent educations as we have outstanding public schools in our neighborhood. But their cultures are extremely different..His high school has an expectation of social respect and an educational excellence driven culture. Where adult like behaviors are expected and celebrated. Every year their is a new class of young men who pick up these behaviors and culture. So my question to you... In a rapidly growing organization where, just like high school, 25% of the organization is new, how do you make sure the culture of social and work excellence is not diluted but getting stronger.
