Today is hard for me! I want to be excited for my friends. #twojamies I met Jamie Shulman on the phone in 2014 and convinced him to come to a Pool party where all the cool cloud kids were hanging out. I introduced him to a bunch of cool CPAs and Xero was a sponsor and it was the beginning of their journey within the accounting channel. I knew absolutely in my heart that they would be acquired someday because they had something special. At that time their app changed my workflow and the ability to deliver financials in near real-time. I gave them lots of honest feedback, the good and the bad. Doesn’t everyone want to hear that their UI looks like someone threw up on the screen! They listened and evolved. And now they are gone! Yes it’s good for them, but bittersweet for me. My feelings will resolve and I will adapt but today I will mourn.
