What’s the kindest thing someone has done for you? In one of my favorite podcasts, the host asks every guest this question. The most common answers seem to be either their parents/partners’ unconditional support, or someone taking a chance on them without any obvious reason/evidence. I wondered why these were common answers. Are these acts of kindness as common? Or is it that, like many other successful examples, we only see the 0.1pc that made it? How many more successes would we see if there were more acts of kindness? Would they involve a trade-off somewhere else? If not, why aren’t we kinder to one another, taking more chances on one another? Sunday thoughts....
