We *all* have to stand up and tell companies that it is *not OK* to continue to say "There is no such thing as privacy in the Digital Age". Full stop. To the contrary, companies have an obligation to act as good stewards of the data that us - their customers - trust them with. Today's technology makes it easier, not harder, to protect our privacy and earn our trust - anything said to the contrary is simply not true. Kudos to Europe for now enforcing this obligation with legal regulation. It is time for US regulatory bodies to step up and do the same. Laws such as GDPR, "The Right to Be Forgotten", etc. are not "overhead", "engineering burden", or whatever other arguments companies are passing around as excuses to not do the right thing.
