Are distractions sometimes a good thing? No, never! A distraction is by definition when you don't do what you said you would do. Distractions are lies we tell ourselves. Don't make excuses for your distractions. They are always harmful. However... A "diversion" is not the same thing as a "distraction." Diversions are a refocusing of attention. Diversions can be wonderful as long as they are done with INTENT. Enjoy that book, video game, or whatever, as long as you can turn "distractions" into "traction" by planning for them.
