It’s a convenient excuse given that we love to blame others. The tech itself alone is not responsible for our tech overuse. Some of the responsibility falls on our shoulders as well. I’ve found that there are mainly two types of people when it comes to tech overuse: - A Blamer, someone who assigns the blame to iPhones, email, the “modern world,” etc. - A Shamer, someone who shames themself for their own lack of control The right approach is to be a Claimer, someone who acknowledges that we didn’t necessarily invent any of these distractions, but that the responsibility still falls on us to use them well.
