Neuralink finally showed something. It, being one of Elon Musk's companies, promised to create a viable technology as a brain-computer interface. There have been doubts about this, just like about his rockets or electric cars, but those at least work. Well, the announcement didn't tell much. We saw 3 pigs, one with an electronic brain implant, one that had an implant and one that never had one. They demonstrated how they can obtain signals with the first pig when its nose touched something. But we are very far from practical uses. What striked me the most was how Elon tried to make every scientific claim dive into the realms of science fiction. One scientist described how such an interface would let patients with retinal issues see again, and Elon immediately started talking about giving people supervision.
