At-home laboratory tests have a chance to shine. The pandemic led to a situation where it's advantageous to do certain lab tests at home to avoid exposure to the infection. In the last 2 years, I've tried and used many tests that used to be only available at laboratories. Here are all of them: - Microbiome test (Thryve and Atlas Biomed) - helped refine my diet - Whole Genome Sequencing + BRCA genetic testing (Dante Labs) - helped design a preventive plan with my GP - Genetic ancestry (National Geographic) - for fun - Medication sensitivity, genetic test (MyDNA) - my GP took notes - Gluten and peanut content in food (Nima) - just for the sake of the technology - Celiac disease test (Imaware) - I'm not sensitive to gluten - Food intolerance for fructose and lactose (FoodMarble) - no results yet We are collecting even more to give a comprehensive image about where this industry is heading and what services are becoming available at home.
