A rapid systematic review just came out in the BMJ . It aimed at reviewing and critically appraising reports of prediction models for 1) diagnosing coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) in patients with suspected infection, 2) for prognosis of patients with covid-19, and 3) for detecting people in the general population at risk of being admitted to hospital for covid-19-related pneumonia. It's quite devastating what it found and clearly shows why implementing A.I. into the clinical practice is going to be so hard without evidence-based data. They found that the proposed models are poorly reported, at high risk of bias, and their reported performance is probably optimistic. Only one study used patient data from outside of China.
