MIT Technology Review published an excellent short study about how 900 healthcare professionals see A.I. today and what they expect from the future. While the report debunks many myths surrounding A.I., I think a key finding is on this image. 75% of medical staff who have AI agree that it has enabled better predictions in the treatment of disease. This is a good start and many A.I.-based methods and systems have not even been proven yet through evidence-based medicine. Moreover, Prof. Michael Brady from the University of Oxford noted that "When we combine AI-based imaging technologies together with radiologists, what we have found is that the combination of the AI technology and the radiologist outperforms either the AI or the radiologist by themselves.” This should go on a T-shirt!
