I'm not in the habit of writing reviews of fictional pieces, but this one hit a nerve. Netflix's new series, Girlboss, which is loosely based on Sophia Amoruso, could have been a powerful story that showcased her incredible entrepreneurial rollercoaster ride with Nasty Gal. Instead, the show perpetuates negative stereotypes about women, the worst being their depiction of Women in Tech - awkward, drab, timid. It certainly doesn't help shift perceptions of STEM for young women when pop culture entertainment does things like this - oh, and this was created and produced by a largely female team. …see more
