Another awesome tradition from the other side of the globe I really appreciate. In the US, we say "Happy Birthday" or "Happy New Year." In Ukraine/Russia, they give you "pozdravlenia" (or congratulations) - basically their wishes for your life. It often sounds something like "I wish you and your family peace and happiness, and all the good the world can give you. That you'll be healthy and prosperous and spread joy everywhere you go." But, of course, customized based on your relationship with the person. Just received one from a friend Alex Panchuk and reminded of how much fun it is to share in other cultures' traditions.
