Moravec paradox represents a super exciting issue in the world of artificial intelligence. It basically says that high-level reasoning requires much less computation than low-level sensorimotor skills. In short, it's easier to write a program to be the CEO of a major company than to be a coal miner. As Hans Moravec writes, "it is comparatively easy to make computers exhibit adult level performance on intelligence tests or playing checkers, and difficult or impossible to give them the skills of a one-year-old when it comes to perception and mobility". Regarding the A.I. era of medicine, it might mean that it makes more sense to teach an algorithm to get better at certain skills important for us working in healthcare than expect programmers to write a code that can do it right away. Meaning we have to be very patient with algorithm when they come to medicine. #themedicalfuturist #digitalhealth #future #healthcare #medicine #technology #AI #artificialintelligence #chess #deeplearning #machinelearning #TMFchessjourney
