I often get a question about the issue of privacy in the digital health era after my keynotes. The way I look at this question is always the same. As long as I'm the one deciding what parts of my privacy I'm willing to give out in exchange for a chance for a healthier and longer life, I'm ethically fine. I've tested so many devices and genetic tests that I'm sure my data has been shared by some of those companies with third parties. But I learnt so much along the way about my health that while such privacy breaches should never happen, I still gained more.
