Poor role modeling. Again. A Florida Republican representative arrested for DUI denigrates Hunter Biden for addiction. Pot calling the kettle.... And poor role modeling. Golfer Patrick Reed not admitting his own rule breaking. Poor role modeling. And don’t get me started on the Astros. Instead of Melania Trump’s “Be best” — which isn’t proper English — what about “Be decent and be honest?”. That’s a motto worth fighting for and adopting in words and deeds. Would that people in power and the public eye stepped up to speak and act decently and truthfully. And I recently have focused on why it is so hard to speak up and out. Why is it so hard to ask people to be better? Complex to do, especially when swimming upstream against a culture that seems to tolerate bad acts. But, enough already. I just spoke up in no uncertain terms to a person I dated in my youth (initials BC) who back then crossed clearly set sexual boundaries I believed in and denigrated me for them. It took me 45 years.
