Yesterday was service selection at the United States Naval Academy. It's an important milestone when midshipman in their final year find out where they will serve as officers after they are commissioned. It's pretty similar to match day for medical students. Some select and get chosen to be in the fleet on Naval Ships, others Naval aviators, submarines, medical corp or cyber security to name a few options. These three amazing young women will be Marines. My daughter (far right) will become a Marine aviator. It was only in 1995, three years before she was born that women were accepted into the Marine aviation program.
