So let me get this right: College Board comes up with an adversity score but does not disclose the algorithm to anyone and the score is only seen by colleges, not HSs or students? That’s transparency? Might I suggest that like credit scoring (done by private companies) we open the scoring so College Board is not the arbiter of who is adversely affected in context of SATs. And the name bothers me: adversity score. It’s not like kids chose their families or communities. Idea is right; execution poor. And does score take trauma into account? Sorry. Know that answer. Answer is we won’t disclose.
