As the sun rises post vote on now Associate Justice Kavanaugh and as I watch the waves lap into the shore, I wanted to say I will be writing several pieces on the impact of these events (non-political commentary) on higher education --- how the events impact students, faculty, staff, coaches and community. In the meanwhile. I am reflecting on who we are as a nation, the messages we are sending to our children young and old. And let me leave this post with this question: Are we proud of who we are and our behaviors throughout the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings and how do we move forward on so many fronts with civility, decency, respect and a deep regard for truth.
