Was at cheery blossoms today -- same day as last year. Only this year, many were brown and the vistas were not enlivened with glorious white and pink blossoms everywhere. An occasional tree, yes. But there was mud and brown everywhere. Symbolic of where we are at in DC at present --- browning not blooming? I wonder. Is that nature speaking truth to power?
