We have a challenge today, this month and next month, not just to move forward but to reflect on who we are as individuals and why we are so divided a nation. Both President Obama and Senator Clinton (although she looked so sad and hurt) spoke about helping the next leader with a peaceful transition. Democracy requires us to pass power. We can and must fight for what we value but we also need to role model democracy at its best: respectful disagreement and non-violent protest.
