Blaxit for Rolanda Spencer occurred when thousands of Black families were forced to migrate to Los Angeles suburbs due to gentrification and an eroding inner city. While the move promised a better life in the early 80s, it was often met with hostile resistance by predominantly white and Latino neighborhoods.
