China’s economy is resuming activity after a near total shutdown. Factories are restarting production, offices are reopening, and consumers are tentatively venturing outdoors and returning to stores. To understand how some companies dealt with the crisis and how they are ramping operations up again after the lockdown is lifted, my colleagues in McKinsey's Greater China Consumer & Retail Practice, Daniel Zipser , Alex Sawaya , and Xin Huang , conducted a virtual roundtable discussion with 6 senior executives from some of China's leading consumer-facing companies: AB InBev, Starbucks, Wumart/DMall, Lawson, LVMH, and Erdos. From procuring large supplies of personal protective equipment to providing additional benefits to employees to ensure their health and well-being, these executives share their experiences on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. My thoughts to all my family, friends, and colleagues dealing with this difficult situation. https://lnkd.in/fngVWcF #China #consumer #retailing #economy #covid19 #coronavirus #economicimpact
