Is Remote Work Here to Stay? It surely seems like it! Brynjolfsson, who studied intersection of technology & economy for years argues a few interesting points that are worth attention (link to the full NPR article is below): 1) There's a lot of inertia in the way people work and it's quite hard to change the processes, the culture, the training, and the types of work. Unless there's a “SHOCK”, most people will tend to continue to do things the old way. In fact, pandemic seems to be the shock needed to push the world to “remote work” almost overnight. 2) Based on data, there’s a Productivity J-Curve when companies adopt new technologies and processes. First, there will be dip in productivity; then with further investments, adjustments, and adoptions there will be significant gains. So there could be more benefits of remote work to come when as individuals, organizations, and industries we nail #remotework . #futureofwork #workingremotely #productivity https://lnkd.in/gC3n2Y5
